Dropbox 3.0 Now Available On The App Store With iOS 7 UI

Dropbox 3.0 was released today on the App Store, which makes the app ready for iOS 7.

Dropbox 3.0 was released today on the App Store, which makes the app ready for iOS 7. The update shows the work of designer Tim Van Damme, who left Instagram to join the Dropbox design team earlier this year. The basic structure and functionality of the app remains the same, but it has been completely redesigned to fit iOS 7’s aesthetic. There’s also a new app icon which now shows a blue box over a white background.

BitTorrent Sync Gets Updated With iPad and iOS 7 Support [video]

BitTorrent Sync has been updated today to v1.2.29 which brings iOS 7 UI compatibility and it now becomes an universal app.

Back in August, BitTorrent has released BitTorrent Sync, a new P2P-based Dropbox competitor app for iOS. The service also comes localized into ten languages, including Spanish, Chinese and German.

You may be familiar with an app called ClouDrop, a popular unofficial app for the CloudApp link sharing service. If you have ever used it, you know that its a very well put together app. In fact it almost makes cloudapp useable… almost

We all know and love Dropbox. For me it’s practically indispensable. What I don’t love however is Dropbox’s official app for iOS. Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty functional, but (a) it is far too blue for my taste and reminds me a bit to much of metro, and (b) it’s missing some pretty handy functionality that (until now) you could only really access from the website… and who wants to do that?

A new profile of Dropbox appearing as the cover story for a forthcoming issue of Forbes reveals that Apple did indeed pursue Dropbox, with Steve Jobs personally meeting with Dropbox founders Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi amid the possibility of a “nine-digit” deal.

Last month, word surfaced that popular file storage and sharing service Dropbox may have declined an $800 million acquisition offer from Apple, instead deciding to remain independent and raise its own financing.
