Just a quick heads-up: The iPhone DevTeam has just ( quietly ) released redsn0w version b5, which incorporates yet another fix for iBooks, this time involving DRM. @planetbeing wrote a utility called “crazeles” that overcomes jailbreak detection by iBooks that would cause about 10% of images to show incorrectly. This fix is similar to the “hunnypot” fix that @comex wrote for the 4.x jailbreak.

On the latest episode of Seth Green’s grossly satirical stop-motion show Robot Chicken we found out, as a Steve Jobs parody became a target for both Compact Disc Man and Zune Man. The “superheroes” tried to do Jobs in, but he succeeded in killing the CD off in a hail of gunfire. Zune Man, however, was allowed to live, with Jobs stating that he “wouldn’t waste the bullets.” Touche.

Apple’s iBook Store To Get The FairPlay Copy Protection
The majority of publishers are expected to embrace FairPlay, along with other copy protection software such as Adobe’s Content Server 4, but it expected that some publishers including O’Reilly Media to opt against FairPlay.
Next month, Apple will launch its iBook store to sell titles for the new iPad, and many of the books are expected to come with a set of digital locks in order to prevent piracy according to LATimes.
