The iPhone DevTeam just updated redsn0w for both Mac and Windows which comes to v 0.9.5b5-3. The tool is now able to hacktivate the iPhone 3G. The DevTeam also warns us not to be tempted with unofficial PwnageTool/redsn0w bundles or releases ( which we presented here ) . The tool totally works even on iOS 4 final, but if you didn’t try it yet, you should take DevTeam’s word for it.

After George said that there is no solution for 3.1.3 on newer devices or 05.12.01 baseband, he tweeted again ( by the way, did you notice theres a FSM celebration everytime George or MuscleNerd tweets? ) stating the obvious harsh reality. The firmware that Apple pushed a couple of days ago is not of such importance , that people absolutely must upgrade their devices.
