FastPdfKit Reader: First Siri Controlled App [video]

FastPdfKit Reader is manipulated by various commands with SiriProxy acting in the middle. A plugin is used to add new commands to the ones recognized by Siri, and finally, the proxy then sends the final commands to the app.

A few days ago, we told you about plamoni’s Siri Proxy , a proxy server which allows developers to easily add functionality to Siri. The main example for Siri Proxy is a plugin to control a thermostat with Siri. If that’s not impressive enough, another developer by the name of Brandon Fiquett, has created a ruby plugin for Siri Proxy which allows him to control his car using Siri.

Today we’re telling you about FastPdfKit Reader, the first Siri controlled iOS app…

MonoTouch: .Net iPhone App Development

Novell technology now lets developers use .Net and C# instead of C or Objective-C to build applications for the iPhone, according to InfoWorld.

We’ve talked, in the past, about developing HTML and JavaScript iPhone apps. Now it’s time to talk about .Net iPhone app development.Monday Novell will release a developers kit that leverages MonoTouch which allows developers to utilize code and libraries written for .Net and programming languages like C#.

“What’s important here is that C# and .Net are considerably more productive development environments than the native iPhone language, which is Objective-C,” said Miguel de Icaza, vice president of the developer platform at Novell and the leader of the Mono project.  With MonoTouch, the Mono runtime provides such developer services as garbage collection, thread management, type safety, and Web services, de Icaza said.

How To Create a Cydia Repository

What is Repository (Repo) :

A way of a developer distributing apps through installer/cydia. For example: Once you(a Dev) makes a repo you put your apps in it then can distribute the link of the repo to others so they can install your apps via installer.

What you will need to start a Repo :

  • A computer running a Linux Distro ( maybe latest version of Ubuntu.)
  • A website where you have FTP access to host the repo
  • Files that you will copy to two directories on your Linux machine . Get them from here
  • Any app or theme, because nobody wants an emtpy repo

ClearCam – 4 MP Photos on iPhone

What’s up this is AnthonyKash from over at TheNovus.net. It’s a new day and a new app out on Cydia. ClearCam boast to take your 2 megapixel iPhone and turn it into 4 megapixels. The developer’s site is located at http://www.occipital.com/ . ClearCam offers “enhanced mode” which snaps 6 pics in 2.5 seconds and combines and enhances all the images to give you that nice 4 megapixel picture you’ve been waiting for. Because it’s a 4 megapixel image the photo’s can be enlarged with better clarity and visibly less noise.

This great app also offers the “QucikShot” setting which rapidly shoots off 4 pics and then chooses the best one and tosses the rest. The only downside is that this app costs $10 but the upside is it’s available for free , cracked wide open for all of us to use on the xSellize Cydia repo. To add the repo go to http://www.xsellize.com/ and sign up for free and add their source, xsellize.com/cydia/user-pass/ to Cydia where user is your user name and pass is your password. Now remember if you like the app go out and support the developers and buy it.

murda the funky space monkey edit :

Usually for a point and shoot cam , you dont need more than , lets say , 5 MP. Although i really dont see a 4 MP quality in the pics shot with the iphone using ClearCam. iPhone’s photo camera diaphragm is too small to capture all the light and details for a 4MP quality pic.

That being said, you should really try this app, because there is a minimal but visible enhancement in the quality of the pic. BTW : trying this on a natural day light wont serve you any good. The iPhone takes beautiful pics on those conditions anyway. Play around with it, see if it suits you, and like Anthony said ( glad you pointed that out ) : if you think that this app suits you, buy it!

Installous Scam on Twitter

Remember that yesterday i’ve presented you Crackulous Scam On Twitter ? Well… new day , the same story. But this time is not about Crackulous , its about Installous. It’s the same page, but not the same domain name.  Same price, same paypal address. PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT!!!! What’s next, Cydia?

As of right now Installous is not free. You may come across websites that claim to have a free version of Installous but these versions have viruses which log all your information including passwords, phone numbers, contacts, and send it to people so it’s best to stay away from these shady copies. A lot of hard work and development went in to making this brilliant application. It would be unfair if it was given for free. Right now this application costs only $10 for a limited time and this is a GREAT BARGAIN so buy it today from the Buy Installous page. Later it will be going up to $20. This application is in hot demand.

JailBird for iPhone and iPod Touch

What’s up everyone this is AnthonyKash from over at TheNovus.net and I’m here to give a review on a new jailbreaking tool called Jailbird . This appjailbird allows users to jailbreak and unlock their devices. It’s similar to the Pwnage tool that can only be used on a Mac, Jailbird lets you create custom IPSW’s with the option to increase root partitions. With the option to create your own custom IPSW’s it gives you the ability to create just one IPSW to be used over and over every time you want to restore your device. This new app will also give you the ability to create custom root partition sizes which can come in very handy. I learned this first hand when recently when my root partition started running out of room quick! I was forced to download a hacked version of OS X Tiger to be installed on VM Ware in order to run Pwnage tool to create my own custom IPSW jailbird2 with a larger root partition. What a pain the ass, it took me two hours to get everything right and the VM Ware Mac ran slow as crap. Jailbird is not out yet but will be available for beta testers for those that qualify. This app will truly be a welcomed newcomer to the jailbreakng community. You can learn more about this app at the developers site at http://getjailbird.com/. I would also like to thank Murda for letting me post over here on his massively awesome blog. I would also like to welcome everyone to come stop in over at TheNovus.net, we are a new site with no bullshit only good people. Thanks everyone AnthonyKash.
