This morning, new leaked images of a purported gold iPhone 5S rear spanel have been published by Japanese website Weekly Ascii. Could this finally be the legit proof we’ve been waiting for?

This week, the rumors of a ‘gold’ color option for the iPhone 5S have reached a fever pitch. First, the iPhone 5S went from a bar of gold to ” less ‘gold’ and more ‘champagne’ “. Than, AllThingsD pretty much confirmed an ‘elegant’ gold color option for the iPhone 5S and we’ve even seen some beautiful mockups of what the the ‘champagne’ color option will look like on the iPhone 5S.
