New In iPhone OS 4 Beta 4: AT&T Native Tethering And New Carrier File

A new carrier file has been added to iPhone 4.0 Beta 4, now version 6.2 up from version 6.0, that has brought back the hopes of native tethering for iPhone users on the AT&T network.( Something every other network has already been enjoying).

A new carrier file has been added to iPhone 4.0 Beta 4, now version 6.2 up from version 6.0,  that has brought back the hopes of native tethering for iPhone users on the AT&T network.( Something every other network has already been enjoying).  Now when going to the network settings in the Settings.app you have a pop up for enabling tethering, and to contact AT&T either via a call or the website.

Going to the web site, and logging into the OLAM(online accounts manager) there are no tethering features yet to add. So next we will have to place a call during business hours…stay tuned for that.

HowTo: Enable Tethering in iPhone OS 3.0 Using MobileSafari ( AT&T )

Instructions on how to enable tethering for users on the AT&T and other networks using MobileSafari.

If you didnt know already, AT&T wont give you the tethering option until “later this summer” . So if you haven’t already discovered tethering is working on iPhone firmware 3.0 (even for AT&T). You can enable AT&T tethering via a simple .ipcc (download AT&T.ipcc) update via iTunes OR you can make it happen in an even easier manner via Safari on your iPhone! BenM.at is hosting TONS of iPhone tethering configuration files for many many networks across various countries.
