Apple has released iOS 5.0.2 for AppleTV 2 and AppleTV 3
Here’s something we didn’t talk about in quite some time. Apple has released iOS 5.0.2 for AppleTV 2 and AppleTV 3. The build number is 9B830 but it is unclear what’s new in this version.
You can download the new build from our downloads page, or update your device directly via Software Update.

This process called ‘stitching’ allows Seas0nPass to utilize previously saved firmware signatures to jailbreak and restore an AppleTV version that Apple may no longer be signing.

Seas0nPass has been updated to support an un-tethered jailbreak of the new AppleTV 4.3 (8F455) software. For the uninitiated, Seas0nPass is the simplest jailbreaking tool available for the AppleTV, and the first to support the new 4.3 version.

The game is a simple BlackJack card game, and frankly, it’s not much to look at. But the addition is notable as it demonstrates that the Apple TV is a functional platform for HTML5-based applications.
A hacker has managed to get an HTML5-based game working on the Apple TV (2G), after having first jailbroken the device and installed the Couch Surfer application. (Couch Surfer provides a Web browser for jailbroken Apple TVs.)
