iDon’t Do What Droid Does

It seems that the negotiations between Apple and Verizon are finalized and the iPhone will stay under the guardianship of AT&T. Verizon on the other hand didn’t just wait for things to happen and they reacted not just against the iPhone but also against AT&T , with two new ads.

Google Launches Adsense for iPhone and Android in Beta

Google just lunched Google AdSense for iPhone apps in beta.Currently the beta is only dedicated to developers of free applications, reaching a minimum of 100,000 views a day.

Last month, FSMdotCOM answered the question: How Much Money A Free iPhone App Developer Can Make? . AdWhirl said that applications that crack the top 100 in the Free Apps list make $400-$5000 a day – a wide range to be sure, but even at the low end that works out to around $12,000 a month. Among these top apps, AdWhirl is reporting an impressive $1.90 eCPM and 2.6% CTR. And while applications that do reach the peak position in the App Store eventually lose steam, revenue tends to remain consistent over time after the initial dip.

Now there is another way for free iPhone app developers to monetize their apps. Google has just launched Adsense for iPhone and Android. Currently the beta is only dedicated to developers of free applications, reaching a minimum of 100,000 views a day.

The code can be implemented right now but will be active within 4 weeks and participation is required for at least three months. If you want to add adsense in your application, click here and start the beta program.

Google’sAndroid has fallen behind the pace set by Apple’s smartphone in terms of its presence on the Web

After matching the iPhone nearly hit for hit in its first five months on the market, Google’s (GOOG) Android has fallen behind the pace set by Apple’s (AAPL) smartphone in terms of its presence on the Web, according to a report issued Monday.

“Android and the iPhone’s browsing usage share upon launch were nearly identical for the first few months,” the Web metrix firm Net Applications reports. “However, May numbers show that the Android mobile platform has fallen off the pace the iPhone set upon its launch.” (link)

MS Office for iPhone

Dataviz, well-known for their Palm OS Software re promising to bring MS Office editing to the iPhone via their new app, DocumentsToGo. The app will be demoed at the Mobile World Congress which runs February 16-19 in Barcelona. The app will also run on Android.

Pricing information has not been released, but the app for Palm OS runs $89.99 in its fullest form, with two lighter version at $49.99 (doesn’t support Outlook on that version) and $29.99 (missing a ton of features, like Mac-created doc support). It’d be interesting to see if they stay at that price point or try to go lower – they really have no competition in this arena.

The closest competitor at the moment is MobileFiles Pro by Quickoffice, which only allows for editing of Excel files, and reading of other MS Office documents. That app sells for $9.99.

GPS MMORPG for iPhone, iPod Touch or any phone running Google Android

The GPS controls what part of a neighbourhood you are in and from that location you can then move your character within a couple block radius of your actual location. Giving you the freedom to explore while still being completely location based.

Not all of the game dynamics in Parallel Kingdom require other people to be immediately present, so there is still quite a bit of game play for those who don’t have any other players right near them.

Gameplay will be quite different depending on your location, for example: New York vs South Dakota. This will make Parallel Kingdom fascinating, especially for travellers. We’re excited to see what comes from it.
