Apple updated today its AirPort Utility iOS app to add 64-bit support. With the AirPort Utility app you can manage your Wi-Fi network and AirPort base stations, including AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and AirPort Time Capsule — right from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. See a graphical overview of your Wi-Fi network and devices. Change base station and network settings, or manage advanced features such as security modes, wireless channels, IPv6 configuration, and more.

Apple Drops Redesigned AirPort Utility App And Firmware Update

Just a quick heads-up: Apple has released a new redesigned AirPort Utility app for Macs, and AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule Firmware Update to v7.6.1.This update is for all 802.11n AirPort Express, 802.11n AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule models. It fixes an issue with wireless performance and provides support for remote access to an AirPort disk or a Time Capsule hard drive with an iCloud account.

Full AirPort Management Utility Coming to iOS5?

Just a quick heads up. As seen in the screenshots from iOS 5 GM, it would appear that we are finally getting full Airport Management capabilities with iOS 5!

Just a quick heads up. As seen in the screenshots from iOS 5 GM, it would appear that we are finally getting full Airport Management capabilities with iOS 5! If you recall, it’s  been already reported that initial setup is built in, only popping up when connected to an unconfigured airport network. This, if it makes it into production, will most certainly allow FULL management for your airport device, right for your iPhone or iPad! Currently, activating that link opens and crashes the app store. More to come as we get ever closer to the general worldwide release, on 12 October.

Just a quick heads-up: iOS 5 lets you set basic settings on new AirPort devices for the initial setup. It doesn’t give you as many options as AirPort Utility, but you will be able to get your newly acquired or reset AirPort device up and running. One step closer to total mobility.
