Easy Way To Install Frash ( Flash For iPhone And iPad ) On Your iPhone And A SBSettings Toggle To Enable/Disable The Plugin

But the thing is that, the project is still in Alpha stages, really unstable and eats a lot of battery. Because we got a quite a few ( a lot ) emails about Frash in the last 12 hours, we decided to write about it, but kick in some FSM flavor.

You all know about Frash and, know by now, you all know that it was ported to the iPhone. Everybody wrote about it, and provided a .deb for you to try it out. But the thing is that, the project is still in Alpha stages, really unstable and eats a lot of battery. Because we got a quite a few ( a lot ) emails about Frash in the last 12 hours, we decided to write about it, but kick in some FSM flavor.

So here it is: easy installation of Frash on your iPhone/iPad and a SBSettings toggle to easily enable/disable the plugin.

Advertisers Will Be Able To Serve Flash Ads On The iPad

Everybody is complaining about the lack of Flash on iDevices. Well, it seems that Flash if finally coming to the iPad, but not in a form that we all have been waiting for ( more or less ) , but in form of ads.

Well, it seems that Flash if finally coming to the iPad, but not in a form that we all have been waiting for ( more or less ) , but in form of ads. Mashable is reporting that, although the iPad will not support Adobe Flash, but thanks to the mobile advertising network Greystripe, advertisers can still serve their Flash-based ads on the new device.Greystripe is now announcing its iFlash Ad Units product, which will let advertisers deliver Flash content to the iPad.

Adobe Announced Air For Mobile Devices

Today at MWC 2010 in Barcelona, Adobe announced advancements to the Adobe Flash Platform including the unveiling of Adobe AIR on mobile devices, a consistent runtime for standalone applications to come out of the Open Screen Project, an industry-wide initiative led by Adobe that has grown to close to 70 ecosystem partners.

Adobe Afraid Of HTML5, Tries To Slow Down Adoption Via W3C Politics?

Ian ‘Hixie’ Hickson (Google) and Anne van Kesteren (Opera) were both claiming that Adobe was blocking the publication of the latest HTML5 specifications by posting a formal complaint to a members-only W3C mailing list.

We covered the HTML5 phenomenon from the beginning, iPhoneifying the subject from an Flash vs HTML5 point of view. In public, Adobe claims to “support” HTML5. On the private W3C mailing list, though, they’ve placed an objection to prevent the current spec from being published. It seems that Adobe, is that Adobe is trying to block the API spec for the canvas element. The canvas element hasn’t gotten as much attention as the video element, but clearly, 2D graphics in canvas is competitive with Flash, and it appears that Adobe’s plan is to sabotage it via W3C politics.

Simple Metronome: First iPhone App Built With Adobe Flash CS5

The apps is well executed, free and open source. The code of the project will be officially published as soon as Adobe will release Flash CS5.

A couple of months ago Adobe released a few Flash based iPhone apps in the Appstore, and this year they will bring around 2 million Flash developers to the iPhone platform. This is possible thanks to their Flash Pro CS5 that will include “Packager for iPhone” , which automagically convert any flash app into an iPhone app.

YouTube Beta: HTML5 To Replace The Current Flash Player?

YouTube released an opt-in experiment let you get videos using H.264 and the HTML5 video tag instead of Flash. What is HTML5? According to Wikipedia, HTML5 is the next major revision of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), the core markup language of the World Wide Web. Why is this important? not owned by any company (including Apple), it’s much lighter on CPU and battery life than Flash, and doesn’t suffer from increasing malware attacks or onerous “cookie”/privacy issues the way Flash does.
