The jailbreak community responded immediately through Ryan Petrich, who quickly developed ContactPiracy, a tweak that will prompt you whenever an app wants to access your contacts database.

Inspired by this unexpected event, Ryan Petrich has quickly developed a tweak that will prompt you whenever an app wants to access your contacts database. The tweak is called ContactPrivacy, and you can get it via Ryan’s private repo in Cydia ( http://rpetri.ch/repo ).
This is a prime example why jailbreaking is not a crime. You can use it when you sign the petition ( hurry, only 1 day left – help EFF to keep jailbreaking legal ).
