Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center: The Most High-Tech Stadium in Sports [video]

Coined “the most high-tech stadium in sports,” the Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center is outfitted with free Wi-Fi that’s designed to support a packed house full of smartphone-wielding fans, LTE and 3G service from the four major carriers and sponsor MetroPCS, and an app that lets fans order and pay for food from their seats without having to stand in concession lines.

It took nine years and some 35 court battles to build the billion-dollar stadium. The Nets won’t play their first home game against the Knicks until November 1st, but the Center itself opened last Friday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz, and Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov.

In the world according to Sprint, the solution is not the next generation iPhone on the nation’s most improved network, but rather the slim and sleek Overdrive which can offer 4G connectivity to all those ailing iPhone handsets.

Apple Increased The Size Of Apps That Can Be Downloaded Over 3G To 20 MB

Apple decided to double the size of applications that can be downloaded over 3G or cellular data to 20 MB. Before, you could download apps from the appstore over 3G only if the size of the app was 10 MB or less or use a WiFi connection or your computer.

Apple decided to double the size of applications that can be downloaded over 3G or cellular data to 20 MB, according to PocketGamer. Before, you could download apps from the appstore over 3G only if the size of the app was 10 MB or less or use a WiFi connection or your computer.

Of course for us, the users, this is not such a big difference. But this benefits developers that can do so much more and sleep peacefully at night knowing that their app can be downloaded even by users that for some reason have no idea what a WiFi connection is. This could also mean that Apple is paving the road for the iPad….

Cydia Now Available On The Web

ModMyi.com just made my dream come true. This statement is true or false? Well let’s see : not true, but not false. Why so confused? 🙂 Well they lunched something i wanted for a long time , which means that the statement its not false. But they didnt make my dream come true, because well… i dont have such low ambitions.

Anyway, they recently ( i believe ) released a web version of Cydia where you can search all the repos for apps. Cydia apps listings show basic information about each application as well as a screenshot. You can check webCydia ( thats how i call it ) here

Cydia™ is Debian APT on the iPhone. Think AppStore, but with packages you could never get direct through Apple. Created by Jay Freeman (saurik), Cydia™ is a feature-rich AppStore competitor. Full themes to completely make over your iPhone’s look are available through WinterBoard. Video recording is possible using Cycorder or Video Recorder for 3G. You can share your iPhone’s 3G connection with your laptop using PdaNet, or get free music, videos, and torrents using dTunes. Take complete control of your iPhone with SBSettings.

You’ll find Cydia™ right there on your iPhone after you jailbreak your iPhone. Using it is easy – browse the categories, check what’s new, or peruse the featured section to see the current popular apps. There’s hundreds (getting into the thousands) of themes to choose from. Cydia™ is easily searchable via the iPhone – but if you’re wanting to browse what’s available from your browser, that’s what this section of ModMyi.com is for.
