Inside every iPhone 4, there’s a darling little chip that, up until now, no one had the slightest inkling about what it might actually do. But, iFixIt have finally sussed it out.
Meet the Audience A1026 Voice Processor, the chip that is responsible for the iPhone 4′s incredible noise cancelation abilities, along with that of the Google Nexus One and a host of other smartphones.
iFixIt says it best: “This is a huge win for Audience. They’re seeing impressive traction in other smartphones. Going forward, it will be interesting to see if Apple decides to integrate the technology into the A5 (as they have with other subcomponents) or if this relationship with Audience is long-term.”
