@Katy: Firmware 3.1.2 was released back in September or October. Last week Apple pushed a new update: Firmware 3.1.3. For firmware 3.1.3 there are no known issues with Winterboard. Depending on your iPhone 3Gs model, it is not recommended to upgrade. You can press the home+power button till your iPhone shuts down and turn it on using the power button. That takes it out of the DFU mode and might fix your problem. If your iPhone boots normally, load Cydia , remove winterboard and resintall it.

hiya i have just jailbroke my Iphone 3Gs Firmware 3.1.2 using Blackra1n which was really easy. But when i went to install Winterboard it turned my phone off and has locked it in the Restore screen (with the itunes and the cable). i have plugged it into my computer and itunes says i need to update - it wont let me press the restore button unless i update? So now im updating to 3.1.3 which is impossible to jailbreak??? And also it says 4 hours download?? Im worried as this is the first time ive done this?? all i want is some funky themes?? HHEEEELLLLPPPP!!!!!

Winterboard works fine with 3gs os3.1 after jailbreak with blackra1n. If you installed cydia, icy or rock on 3g connection try again with wi-fi. Also, install cydia solo instead of checking them all. That's what I did and it fixed the problem.

everybody listen up....if your iphone is in safe mode, and if youre still able to use the iphone while it's in safe mode, this is what you gotta do

1. open cydia
2. go to manage
3. go to packages
4.click on the pakage you installed that caused it to go into safe mode (most common winterboard)
5.then it should ask you if you want to uninstall? (and you'll put yes)
6.restart the iphone and it should be out of safe mode.

repeating apple problem aka apple of death

if you restart your ipod, and the apple keeps flashing on the screen or sustains, then you have to force your ipod into disk mode and restore it, yeah i know sucks.

this is the simple way of doing it.

1. open itunes on computer
2. make sure ihpone is shut off (do it manually by holding the home button and power button)
3. connect the usb cable only, to the computer
4. while holding down the home button connect it to the usb cable that should already be in the computer by now.
5.when it shows the picture of the usb plug and the itunes logo, that's when you let go of the home button.
6.restore your iphone through itunes

anymore questions about the iphone hit me up jwbda3rdiphone@aol.com
