This classic is consistently voted one of the best commercials of all time, the voiceover was performed by Charles Nove and the ad was written by then copywriter now director, Frank Budges.
Charles Alexis Nove is a long standing news and continuity voiceover for BBC radio and television. In recent years he has provided holiday relief for BBC Radio 2 and what used to be Saga Radio in Scotland, however since John Marsh’s retirement in February 2007 he has now become one of the regular newsreaders on the flagship breakfast show “Wake Up to Wogan”. He is also the London studio technical operator when Terry Wogan presents his Radio 2 show from various locations around Europe during coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest and other outside broadcasts in the UK.
