While using Twitter for the iPad, we stumbled on a new to us feature. Maybe you all have seen it, maybe not. The Twitter app’s slick use of 2 finger spread and animations was so cool we had to do a quick write up and video to explain/show it off. So in your time line just give a spread with 2 fingers. Tap and spread upwards, and the tri-fold animation shows the user profile. Spread downward, and it un-rolls the threaded conversation. Awesome.

New day, new jailbreaking tool. This one is Apple TV specific and is used to create a custom Firmware that you can restore to in iTunes. Even providing a tethered boot tool for when power is lost or just needing a reboot. Seas0npass.app is Mac only and simple to use. It will even download the IPSW if you don’t have it saved on your computer.

The jailbreak for 4.2.1 has been out for a while, and for most of you, its whats know as a “tethered” jailbreak. Meaning you need a tool to boot the jailbroken device back up overtime it loses power or needs a restart. There are a couple of ways to accomplish this, redsn0w or if you made your own custom firmware with a modified pwnage tool, tethered Boot tool and terminal/cmd.

I don’t know why, but Apple left usage stats out of the iPad and iPod Touch settings. I like being able to see how long its been since I last charged my device. And iPhone users have it, so why shouldn’t everyone. This requires a jailbroken device of course. And you’ll need either openSSH or afc2 access(to edit a couple of files) and a plist editor or text editing app like Text Wrangler..
